R04-Maintenance Of Road Furniture

Maintaining road furniture is critical for ensuring road safety, efficient traffic management, effective navigation, and overall public satisfaction with the road network.

Therefore, cleaning of road furniture would include

Stains of tar, grease or oil shall be removed by using chemical, followed by detergent and thoroughly rinsed with clean water.
For surface contaminated with tar, oil, smut or/and bitumen, mild solvent such as mineral spirits shall be used. For surface contaminated with pollen and fungus, the surface shall be washed with a 3-5% sodium hypochloride solution.
The concrete barrier, delineator posts, kilometer post and its reflector units shall be cleaned with clean water, approved chemicals or detergent.

The cleaning of lenses shall be carried out using anti-static water based alkaline cleaner/degreaser.

Cycle :

• Protocol roads : 2 cycles/year
• Primary roads : 1 cycles/year
• Secondary roads : 1 cycles/year
