R07-Drainage

Proper drainage maintenance is critical for protecting road surfaces and preventing water-related damage. Therefore, maintenance work shall include cleaning lined and unlined drain sumps, culverts, and blocked grates.

Cleaning of drains work would include

Cleaning of drains (lined and unlined)

Remove and dispose of silt, debris, vegetation, fallen leaves, branches and any other obstruction found.

Cleaning of sumps

Carried out works including desilting, emptying and cleaning all sumps.

Cycle :

• Protocol roads : 4 cycles/year
• Primary roads : 3 cycles/year
• Secondary roads : 2 cycles/year

Note: All open drains (lined and unlined) related work to be carried out under this category of works shall not exceed 2.0m width
